This unique e-Learning programme is aimed at the education of health and medical Web site developers based on the HONCode© principles. The e-Learning programme utilises a Web to public knowledge transfer model to assist Web site developers in complying to the HON principles during the development process and thus providing reliable health information to consumers in a clear and efficient way.
Education programme outline
The programme consists of three modules that covers the following:
- An introduction of concepts and quality assurance methods, including the use of ethical standards to achieve credibility.
- What the Web to public knowledge transfer model is, principles that the model is based upon, guidelines to convert these principles into technology, examples how the Web to public model and HON principles is applied, as well as hands-on exercises.
- Development of a Web project leading to certification.
Registered students automatically have access to an e-Mail discussion list where they can communicate with other students through collaborative learning and receive guidance by HON for Africa developers.
This e-Learning programme has a specific focus on the economic development of women in African countries. Registration therefore is free for women from African countries while a nominal fee is charged for other potential students.
